For this project the project we decided to solve overpopulation/ world hunger. This was a very hard problem to solve, because at first it was hard to find a way where it was ethical, but still helped with the problem. After lots of research we thought that the bet way to do it would be to make vertical farms using hydroponics to make food. Vertical farms are farms in a building using hydroponics and artificial lights to grow plants. Vertical farms are a very effective method for getting fresh fruits in urban environments. We know this will not permanent solve world hunger but we think it can temporary put a "band-aid" on the problem, because we are running out of food, water, and other valuable resources. It might take a lot of energy to power the lights but with the direction that clean energy is headed we feel like by the time this project could be done, power would be easier to get.
There is a company that does this all ready doing hydroponics called Aero Farms. They are located in the east coast and they are doing pretty well. We are planing to take there some concept and ideas, but make them on the west cost. If you would like to see what Aero farms is up to, and hat are project would roughly look like hears Aero Farms website.
This project was really fun because I was with one of my favorite groups so far. I felt like we did a really good job of collaborating and listing to others ideas. I also thought we did a good gob at creativity and coming up with new inviting ideas. For example when we where trying to find ways to fix the problem we came up with a list of like 20 ideas. This group was really fun but some times we where having so much fun we got of task. One other thing we had a hard time with was asking other groups for help and ideas.
